I am looking for my Farrell ancesters from Ballinameen, Co. Roscommon. Your Winfred Farrell and Luke Morrisroe were married in Ballinameen. Winifred's father was Richard. Do you know if he had a brother or relation John?

I have Luke's and Winifred's marriage cert but no name for Luke's father.

I would be interested in obtaining a copy of that certificate if you care to share.

Luke Morrisroe married Winifred Farrell on 12th February 1860 in the Parish of Ballinameen (near Boyle), Co. Roscommon. Luke's father was Richard Morrisroe. Witnesses were Peter Morrisroe and Mary Farrell.

I found this on www.rootsireland.ie. You can search for births, marriages and deaths and can get a print off of a certificate for a small fee.

I am searching for my Farrelll ancestors who were from Ballinameen. My grandfather was John Farrell and his father was Luke Farrell. John was born in Ireland in 1840. Could there be a connection?

Interesting. I would have thought I would find Luke, Richard or Peter in the Griffiths as property owners in that area but haven't. Am I missing something?

Unless they had land you would not find them in Griffiths Valuation. I think Luke was a tailor.

I meant to say that John's son Luke was a tailor.
