I see after their marriage that John, Martha and daughter Mary were in Lafayette County Ms in 1860.

Were John Dunlap's parents John (b. circa 1800 NC) and Frances (b. circa 1791, Ga.) Dunlap of 1860 Lafayette Co.? It appeared John's younger brother Joseph (b. 1842) was in his parents' HH.

In 1850 Lafayette Co. the memebrs of the HH were listed as "J", Frances, Martha C, John and Josiah.

It also appeared that in 1850 and not far from the Dunlap HH that Martha Hyde was listed in the HH of "W" and Elizabeth Hyde.

I know this post was several years ago but I am hoping someone has more information on Wesley Bruce and Elizabeth Bruce Hyde who are mentioned in this posting. Elizabeth Bruce was the daughter of Joel Bruce and Mary West and she married William Hyde in Greenville District, S.C. (also where she was born) and they then migrated to Lafayette County, Mississippi. Elizabeth had a brother, Benjamin Franklin Bruce born 1820 in S.C. (my ggg grandfather) and he migrated from S. C. to the Pontotoc County, MS area around 1845.

I have come across this Wesley Bruce before and have seen his name on census records, etc. but at this time I am not aware of how he fits in with my Bruce's; although I believe he does.

Does anyone have any further information on Wesley Bruce or Elizabeth Bruce Hyde, wife of William Hyde? I believe that Elizabeth and William Hyde are buried near Oxford, MS......does anyone have further info on this family?

Thanks...Faye Gory Turnbaugh
