Thank you so much for your time and consideration - I appreciate your assistance in braking down this wall for me:

1) I do not know for certain where Felix KOWALSKI arrived in the US - the first record I have is in Western Pennsylvania in 1930 census; I have found an ancestry index that looks promising but is as yet unconnected:
FELIO KOWALSI age 24 destined for Brooklyn (B abt1888 Heczojmbia) Polish / Russian is listed on ship manifest of AMERIKA sailing out of Hamburg Germany 13Dec1912; NY, NY arrival 26Dec1912

2)You report Pelagia Lopatowska; Arrival Date in Philadelphia on the Brandenburg 16 Dec 1912 with her mother Francizka age 58 - was there any infor for Francizka (was she a LOPATOWSKA

Thanks again

The Ancestry transcribers saw the name as Lopalowska but you will notice the person who wrote the manifest, at the Port of Departure, did not cross their Ts

They are lines 14 and 15

No the mother's birthplace is listed as Wielka

Notice to the left of their names are the letters SI, which meant they were detained at the port of Philadelphia for a Special Inquiry. Those pages were not included in the Ancestry database, but one may suspect they were detained as they did not have tickets (train) to their destination. Or with Francezka being a widow perhaps they questioned whether or not she could provide for herself and her daughter. We may speculate that they were detained until her Son in Law came for them
