Can you tell me how do you think Joesf Kluk was? My father Josef Kluk came over from Austria in the early 1900's and we figure he was about the age of 6months or a little older. His father was Nicholaus Kluk who came over earlier. Thank you! Marlene

I have no idea what year Josef Kluk was born. He was the father of my grandfather, Arthur Charles Kluck, who was born in 1916.

Probably not related as my grandfathers, fathers name was Andrew Kluk and they came from Galicia, We are trying to find out wether he had any brother or sisters. No one seems to know anything about my grandfather who was Nicholaus as we believe, but on my uncles birth certificate they have my grandfather as Michael. All I know so far he left from Hamburg,Germany to come over. His wife and son came later. We believe my grandfather was born in 1800 sometime. Thank you for your reply. Marlene

Be sure to check out Milwaukee's large archive of German language newspapers for your Kluck family. Some of the names listed in an index under construction since 2007 include: Albert, Ernestine, Friedericke (née Wessel, 29 yr; John), Henrietta (née Garschke), John (86 yr), Mary Louise (née Mallon), Henriette (née Kluck) Leo.

Indexing Milwaukee's German newspapers continuously since 2007, but an out-dated version is cataloged at the public library (only 2500 pages).
