Hi Mitchell. How interesting! The RMS Titanic! This would make for a Great Story at our Reunion this Summer. Do you know what lineage William Hull Botsford follows? I am forwarding your request to the Association's genealogist. Please watch here for a response in a week or so since I don't know how else to contact you. Are you a registered member of the Botsford Family Historical Association? We have a number of genealogies for sale that may be of interest to you. I will let you know if we can figure out what lineage William follows and what genealogy you can purchase, but also please watch for our Website coming in about two weeks. The address is www.botsfordfamily.org. We have a wonderful association - about 500 registered members so you know there are more out there that are not registered. Those are the ones we are trying to find. We have soo much history to share. For instance, this summer, we will be celebrating our 96th family reunion, once again, on land once owned by Henry and Elizabeth who were pioneer settlers of Milford, Conn.(1639) Do you realize we are the only family in colonial New England owning land that has been continuously under the name of the original settlor. DON'T YOU FIND THAT JUST SO INCREDIBLY AMAZING AND EXCITING????!?!?! So, please stay tuned, and I will try to find out this information for you. In the meantime, if you know what lineage William follows, as well as Howard Smith Botsford, please email be back here.

Cyndi,
Just wanted to let you know I read both your message and Mitchell's. Both were very interesting of course, and since you both mentioned your interest in the Titanic, well just thought Id tell you..Im just finishing up a mosaic of the Titanic. I told Mitchell about it cause since a Botsford was on the ship, I just thought he'd like to know is all. I made it in honor of all who went down on it, and as a gift to the guy who discovered the ship, if he wants it that is. Ive been in touch with him, but we'll have to see when Im done, still have to grout it yet. Anyway..perhaps you can help me with the Botsford part of this message. Im looking for a Paul or Allan Botsford who lived in Rochester NY back in the 1960s who were in their teens at the time. If you have any info or suggestions on them please let me know..thanks! Feel free to email me anytime. Thanks!

William Hull Botsford, son of WIlliam Brockway 'Hull' Botsford (He was adopted) and Mary Anna (Taylor) Botsford B. 23 Nov. 1886. See Page 201 of the Samuel Line Genealogy Supplement. Also, the Dec. 1999 Band of Botsford Bulletin had a short article about him. Patrica M. Howard of Livingston, New Jersey sent in a newspaper article from The Star-Ledger July 3, 1998, regarding the Erie Lackawanna Station in Montclair, NJ, which was built in 1913 and closed in 1973. The interior of the building is not covered by any regulations for historical buildings, and is proposed to be turned into a Video store and shopping mall. Of note is that WILLIAM HULL BOTSFORD was the railways chief architect and he designed the building. William Hull Botsford died as a second-class passenger onthe TITANIC before his building was finished. Mr. Botsford is one of the SAMUEL LINE. Again, I strongly suggest you obtain the Samuel Line Genealogy for more information.
