Do you know who Jane HEFFERs parents were? I have a number of HEFFERs in Cambridge around the 1800-10 mark...

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have this info.

Jane Heffer married Joseph Davey and when he died married James Adams, a full age bachelor and labourer, an illegitimate son. Jane, his bride, was listed as daughter of John Heffer, a shepherd. John Kent and Emma Heffer witnessed the marriage. There is a record of a Jane Heifer baptised February 20, 1825 in Exning Suffolk to John Heifer and Mary.

The IGI shows possible siblings are:

C1) Ann Heffer, baptised August 16, 1818 to John and Mary, formerly Cambridge, England.

C2) John Heffer was baptised August 5, 1821 to John and Mary in Exning. Charles Heffer, baptised March 2, 1823 to John and Mary in Exning.

C3) Jane

C4) Mary baptised October 8, 1831, to John and Mary in Exning.

C5) George Heffer baptised March 6, 1836 to John and Mary in Exning.

C6) David baptised September 16, 1838 to John and Mary in Exning

C7) Emma baptised August 23, 1829 to John Heifer and Mary in Exning.

Let me know if there is a connection, or feel free to embellish,

Thanks for the interest

My Heffers came to Australia in 1954, and I havent followed up on the English ones after that... so quite possibly they are the same family, but I cant be certain. Henry isn't a name that occurs anywhere in my Heffer line though... if you have any earlier information, let me know.

Good luck

I am looking for some information about a Frederick William Heffer, born on May 24 1915, who married Mabel in 1944 and I think had a son Robert in 1951.

Do you know these people?

Charles James HEFFER was L/Cpl 2093 in 1/5 Battalion Suffolk Regiment aged 22 killed in Action on 20 Sept 1915. He seems to have been born in the same quarter that Rose Louisa HEFFER married James Leverly CROSS (Q2-1892) He variously is named as HEFFER or CROSS-HEFFER)
Researching the Exning War memorial I would dearly like a photo of Charles ( or family group) if anyone finds one. There are two DAVEY brothers on Memorial,George William and Walter Jamesand any extra on them would be appreciated also
