I am looking for info on the Lineberry family of Wadesboro, NC. I am interested in the military service for the family, from the Civil War to the present. My father was James Everett Lineberry of Wadesboro, NC. He married Sarah Hughes of Spartanburg, SC.
Our family moved to Spartanburg, SC, where I grew up. I married Nancy Smith of Pauline, SC. We have two sons, Benjamin and Marcus. My brother lives in Jacksonville, FL. His name is William (Bill)Lineberry and his wife is Janet. He has two sons, David and Scott.
I am interested in finding out about the ancestry of the Lineberry family. Back to the American Rev and whether or not more Lineberry's are of English or German ancestry. Thanks, Ben Lineberry

My great-grandfather was Conley Lineberry. We was from Carroll County, Va. I have information on his family tree dating back to Jacob Lineberry II, born in 1749. Jacob came from the Black Forest of Germany. I don't know if this helps you, hope so!

Good evening John,
It was good to see that someone reads those things on ancestry.
Jerry was my cousin. He grew up in Wadesboro, NC. His brother is Wayne Lineberry, but I'm not sure where he lives now. His two sisters, Anita and Gaye, are married and live in Wadesboro, NC.
I remember when Jerry died. I was home on leave from the navy to get married. My brother, Richard E. Lineberry a Sgt. in the Marines, escorted Jerry's body back to Wadesboro for the ceremonies. It tore Jerry's father up.
I wish I could help you more, but it has been many years since I've been back for any family reunions. Jerry's parents have both passed away. My Dad, WWII army, passed away several years ago and he was one of the main members who kept the reunions going. The sisters, my aunts, just don't keep in touch.
If I can help you out in any way, email me ( Maybe my mother might have more info on the family than I would. Sincerely, Ben Lineberry

I am the great grand-daughter of Burton Roland Lineberry. One of his brother's was Conley Lineberry. I have recently received a picture of the 5 brothers with their mother Lillian and Francis Lineberry. I have been researching the Lineberry family tree and have quite a bit of information. However I do not have a lot of information on any of Burton's brothers (DOB, etc.). Our family has also been looking for any information on Burton Lineberry--we do not even know where he is buried. If you have any information please let me know. Thanks

Good evening from Pauline, SC,

Just by chance, my grandson was checking things on the computer and came upon these replies. I had sent several out earlier (2001, etc.). Like I said then, I was looking for some history on the Lineberry family from Wadesboro.

Dad, James Everett Lineberry passed away on Dec 23, 1996. Mom, Sarah Hughes Lineberry passed away on April 25, 2012....our grandson's 6th birthday.

I was glad to find out the info on our German ancestry from some earlier emails. What I really wanted was the military service of the family. Dad was US Army (Saipan in WWII), John Frank Lineberry US Army (Battle of the Bulge in WWII), Clifton Lineberry was US Navy (WWII), not sure whether Atlantic or Pacific. I guess, I should have paid more attention when they spun their stories at the family reunions, especially when I was just a kid.

My brother Richard Everett Lineberry was US Marines (3 tours of Nam), passed away many years ago. My younger brother, Billy Lineberry was in the US Coast Guard. I served in the US Navy Reserve and US Navy with Attack Squadron 65, attached to USS KITTY HAWK, off the coast of Nam, and the USS Independence.

I have not had any contact with kinfolk in Wadesboro, since dad passed away in '96.

Ben Lineberry (James B. Lineberry)

Hello Ben, my name is Paul Lineberry. I am the son of your brother, Richard Everette Lineberry.
I was a small child when my father escorted Jerry back to the states for his burial. I can vaguely remember that service and what a solemn time it was.
I would live to hear from you and possibly hear some stories from that time frame.
