Anyone have information on Amos Buckman, (my 2 GG) from Bucks County, PA (1828-1883). He was married to Catherine (or Catharine) and that is about as far as I can go back. I am trying to find his father. I know Amos fought in the Civil War c.1864.
Thanks

I have been researching my husbands line...His G.G.G. Grandmother was Mercy Buckman...I can't say if this is your Amos Buckman being I have not researched it but the Amos I have found sure has a lot of similarities to the one you are looking for.. I have come across an Amos Buckman (b) June 20, 1828 in Newtown, Bucks Co. Pennsylvania and (d) June 13, 1883 in Pennsylvania. He married Catherine Dedaker on October 9, 1851. Amos is listed on the 1850 Montgomery Pennsylvania Census and it shows Thomas Buckman (b) Abt. 1802 in Bucks Pennsylvania and Mary Harding (b) Abt. 1808 in Bucks Pennsylvania as is Parents...Like I said, I haven't researched this but you can look up the 1850 Census and see Amos listed along with his siblings....Hope this helps

Thank you. Yes that is the Amos I was searching and I found that info shortly after writing this post. Mercy (Bailey) Buckman 1799-1851 was married to my 3rd GG Uncle, Harding Buckman on Oct 7, 1819 and had several children including a daughter, Mercy Buckman (1835-1891). From what I have I don't show where the young daughter Mercy was ever married and died in California on Nov 19, 1891. attached is photo I found of Harding and Mercyy

Oh Good....I'm glad you found the information you needed and it was the same as what I found....Yes, Mercy Buckman did marry...She married Casper Cobb and together they had 6 or 7 children. At some point Casper, Mercy and the children moved to Red Bluff, Tehema California. I know that is where Casper passed away and is buried. I would assume that being Mercy passed 2 years before Casper, that is where she is buried as well. I'm making a trip to Tehema next month to search further. Casper and Mercy were my husband John's G.G Grandparents making Mercy and Harding, Your G.G. Aunt and Uncle, My husbands G.G.G. Grandparents....I'm not sure how that would make you and my husband related but it's apparent it's some sort of distant kinship....
