Note: "Wash" Simmers was living with Jacob Lefever (b. 1822 in PA, probably Butler Co), who married Emily Ray, in the 1880 Morgan Co., OH census. Wash was identified as a cousin--so could his mother Fanny have been a Lefever?

I too am trying to solve the mystery of who Fanny Simers/Simmers was. They are living in the midst of the Samuel Lefever family in several of the censuses in Homer Twp., Morgan County, Ohio. This Samuel Lefever was born in 1792 to Isaac Lefever, Sr. who came from France and settled in Buffalo Twp., Butler County, Ohio as early as 1803. He later removed to Salt Creek Township, Muskingum County, Ohio between 1825 and 1830 with his second wife, a Widow Mary Smith, with whom he had two more sons -- Zenas Lefever and William Lefever. This Isaac Lefever died in 1854, as did his son, Samuel Lefever (b. 1792). Isaac had a son, Isaac Lefever, Jr. who lived in Trimble Township, Athens County, Ohio. Isaac Lefever, Sr. also had other children, but not one named Fanny, to my knowledge. I would like to solve the mystery of who Fanny Simers/Simmers was. "Wash Simmers was living near Jacob Lefever, son of Samuel Lefever (b. 1792) and identified as a cousin in the 1880 census. Jacob Lefever married Emily Snider of Pennsylvania and Emily's mother was living with them in the 1880 census, along with "Wash" Simmers, who is identified as a cousin.
