My son's great-great-great grandmother was Nell Irma THOMPSON, who was born in Morehouse Parish on 11 Jan 1893. From the 1910 Census I found out that her mother was named Rosa, and from the 1880 and 1900 Censuses I found out her father's name was Bryant Whit THOMPSON. I found a marriage for Bryant Whit THOMPSON & Rosa JOHNSON on 30 Oct 1877 in Morehouse Parish in's database "Louisiana Marriages, 1718-1925".

Does anyone know of Bryant Whit THOMPSON and Rosa JOHNSON and their families?

On the road leading north (Norsworthy Rd.?) from Collinston to Bastrop there is a cemetery which has the graves of Whit and Rosa and Whit's parents, John W. and Martha E. Here are the notes that I took.

John W. Thompson, 1816-1899
Martha E. Balkum , 1825-1895, wife of J.W.
John Lee, 1856-1876, son of J.W. and M.E.
Alexander, 1851-1933, son of J.M. and M.E.
B. Whitt, 1853-1901, son of J.W. and M.E.
Rosa A., 1855-1938
Sophronia Armidella, 1857-1935
Mabel Maud, 1888-1909
Mattie Z., 1882-1901
Albert Rowan, 1881-1942
James W., 1890-1964, WWI PFC Co. D 21 Engnrs
Beatrice A., Aunt, 1897-1991
James Mark, 1899-1921, youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. J. M. Thompson
Blanche C., 1900-1983

According to my notes this family is in the 1860 census in Arkansas, Ashley Co., Hamburg PO, Burnhouse TWP. They are also in the 1880 census in the 8th ward of Morehouse Parish.
