Yes it has been a while.
In 2004 I came across a message that your cousin Susan had posted (November 2002) regarding the Crowley family from Dunmanway, Cork (see below). I'm pretty sure that the Crowleys described in Susan's message are related to my Crowleys (Massachusetts).
I would be happy to share information with Susan (or with you if you are interested).
Please let me know.
CROWLEY/DUNMANWAY COUNTY CORK IRELAND
Susan Hewitt Posted: 25 Nov 2002 1:15AM
Surnames: Crowley, Barry, Creedon
My paternal grandmother, Mary Theresa Crowley was born in Dunmanway in the 1880's from what I have been told. Her mother's first name was Susan and I am not sure what her father's first name was. She had siblings Julia,Daisy, Nellie ( real name was either Helen or Ellen), Patrick and Michael and Jerome. Patrick and Michael were tailors and I believe they settled in N.Y. My grandmother came to United States when she was about 16 years of age. She worked as a domestic for a doctor in Boston. She met and married my grandfather Joseph Leo Barry who was born in Cambridge, Ma in 1890. They had six children, two of whom died in infancy a son and a daughter. They had four other sons Joseph Jr, Thomas Francis who is my dad, William David and Jerome . Joseph and Jerome are still living. My grandmother passed on in December 1960 and my grandfather passed on in April 1980. My grandmother's sister Julia married my grandfather's brother John Barry. Nellie married a John Creedon. Daisy stayed in Ireland or may have gone to England, I am not sure. I don't know if she married and had a family. I would like to find out if there are any other relatives still in County Cork. If anyone has any useful info for me, please E-mail me at Scorpiomom@attbi.com
Thanks, Sue Barry Hewitt
