I may be of Cornstalk's lineage as well. I am trying to put the pieces together. Would love to be involved in the search. I live about 7 hours from where Cornstalk 1 was killed in the 1700's and left the curse.

I am trying to find the link, which son, which line did my grandfather come through?

INTERESTING READING, AND I BELIEVE IT IS AVAILABLE (REPRINT) FROM THE ZENIA,OHIO HIST. SOC. IN ZENIA OH. MY GR-GR-GM. WAS YOUNGEST DAU.(OCEANA) OF KAUTAUGHUHA (CORNSTALK TO THE WHITES) (ORAL HISTORY OF THE SHAWNEE) MY GR-GM MARY JANE DAU. OF AARON VAN SCYOC,& OCEANA LIVED WITH US TILL SHE WAS 10 DAYS LESS THAN 105 YRS. OF AGE. (YES ONE O FIVE).

Thank you for the information about the book. I will look for it. My husband is also of native ancestry. We have learned that marriage was not the same with the tribes. His grt grm bore children from several different men. It was their way to live with man until he did something that greatly displeased them. Then the woman would leave and find another that was better for her and her children. Their traditions make it difficult to match family lines. But i believe it can be done.
As for Cornstalk it will be a matter of finding the matriarchal line. I believe it can be done.
I will look for the book you mentioned.
thank you

Thank you for your response, this is very good information and a lead I have not yet heard. So this is exciting to me. A friend of mine said she talked to the Shawnee sub chiefs about her family history and they told her that Kings had a strong tie with the Shawnee. I was told that my Grandfather Edward Webster King was Indian, and part of the Cornstalks. So I hope maybe if I find the truth if it is then I will share with you the info. Thanks again Keith King (Kris) My email again is sr0190@sbcglobal.net
