Spelling should be Martyniuk, a common name in Poland.
You need to know where he was born.
Bartyk and wife, Josephine, were naturalized Canadians, 17 May 1926. Record probably has birthplace. For a copy of the record:

From Canadian Naturalization 1915-1932 search page:
Record list page:
You are really lucky. Usually only records older than 120 years are available. But the Ukraine does not have this law.
LDS records are available:

May include surrounding villages within the parish. Includes records for people not belonging to the parish and for converts. Text in Latin and Polish.
Greek Catholic: Metrical books, 1835-1912
Greek Catholic Church records (births, marriages, deaths) for Batyjów (Łopatyn), Galizien, Austria; later Batyjów (Radziechów), Tarnopol, Poland; now Hrushky (known as Batyïv until 1950), Radekhiv, L′viv, Ukraine. Text in Latin with some headings in Russian.

Not much information to go on.
Maybe spelling is Dżama. But Dzama/Dżama are not in 1990s or 2002 surnames list.
Eln is possibly Ełk, northeast Poland, 70 km southwest of Suwałki. What document has the name. Can you scan and post?
Maydański/a is an old version of Majdański/a, a common name with 1141 total in the 2002 surname list, located by county:
None in Ełk county, but 1-3 in neighboring Olecko county. There are about 70 in former Western Galicia. Also some of those in the pre-World War Two German territories would have been from Eastern Galicia and Western Galicia.

Thanks again for your help? Where are you located?
I know I don't have a lot of info to give you but here is the URL, it might help.

Mydanska is listed as Mayisky. Her last surviving daughter says it was Maydanska . I have found 4 different surnames for her...Mayisky, Maydanski, Maydanska & Mydynska.
Maybe you will know more about the last name.

I am in London, ON.
As I am not a subscriber, I can not open that url. Next time I'm in the library I will look it up. Please convert the url to a Tiny Url, using:
In another message, you have Josephine from Chilin. This was in Wołyń province, now in the Ukraine. I do not know the Ukrainian name. The former parish was Dąbrowica.
Maydanska is a female Maydanski. It is one surname.
