Several years ago my great uncle and his wife lost all of their possessions at a state sale. The sale took place in Red Oak, IA. The names connected are Axel and Lilly Johnson. There were many photos of family in Sweden (Johannson). If anyone runs across any of theses items please contact me. Other names: Sjogren, Frans, Ellen, Petterson, August, Adelia Sophia, Hjalmar.

I just found your post...You listed the name Sjogren in it...I am trying to trace my great-grandparents, Andrew Peter Sjogren and wife Helen, both born in Sweden..They lived in Chicago, then on a farm near Bethesda in southwest IA. My grandfather was born on the Bethesda farm March 1874, married Anna Danbom March 1897 and lived on the Danbom farm 10 miles east of Red Oak until he died Aug 1960...His siblings were Albert, Nathan, Esther (married Carlson), Helen, and Ellen (married Lundgren)...All but Nathan changed their name to Shogren...I grew up in Stanton, IA just a few miles from Red Oak, and I know of no other Sjogrens in or around Red Oak...I would like to know if the Sjogren you named in your post is one of my family...I know you posted this message 3 years ago today, but I hope to hear from you...Thank You...Anne Shogren...austin349747@cox.net

My great grandmother was Adelia Sophia Sjogren. I have photos of her, her sisters and brother, her mother and father, as well as her two children, Elmer and Beatrice Gates. If these are yours as well, please feel free to copy them from my Gates/Farrell/Lewis, I think that's it's name. If you can't do that and still want them, please let me know, and we can find a way. Just as a side note, Most of the Sjogren history I have, Including Adelia Sophia is from around Larned Kansas, aside from her birth, which was in Sweden.
