Hello Ed,
My name is Clif Leight(born 9/7/50). I have been researching the Leight family line and am back to my 3 gr. grand father, John Leight(1799-1862)who lived in Parkton,Balto. Co. His first wife "Polly" Hartman and he were from the York,Pa. area. However,I have strong reason to believe John's father was a Werner Leicht, son of Adam Leicht, all of York Co. It seems their lives were tied very close to the

york road area. Thanks for the cemetary info and I too would like to see your family tree.
Also, how do you pronounce your name?
thanks,
Clif Leight

Hi Clif...my family name is pronounced " light, like the bulb...sorry it has taken so long to catch your message, but I had started a new job scince I last looked at the board, and also moved to another part of Balto.,...do you think the two different spellings are still the same family?...my Father and his siblings grew up in Shrewsbury Pa.,...then, when his Mother died, they moved to Balt. city...had quite a rough time, my Father and his brothers and sisters...my Grandfather placed them in an orphanage for a number of years...drop a line if you think of some other relatives, and we can chat about it...very truly yours...Ed Leicht

Hi Ed,
Good to hear from you.My ggg-grandfather John Leight (1799-1862) was from York and is buried in Balto. Co.,and his father was Werner Leicht (1769-1831),buried at Blymire's in York. I can't tie our Leicht's together yet.
A Harford Co. bio. names one Adam Light as John's grandfather, however after two researchers I can't locate him yet. Most of my info comes from Barbara Leight in Balto. Co.
I did check out the cemetery in Shrewsbury that you mentioned.
See ya,
Clif
