The cemeteries in St. Clair County have been transcribed according to tombstone readings and certain city/township death records (compiled by the Family History Association) and are located in the St. Clair County Library, (Michigan Room) Port Huron, MI. 810/987-7323.

Does anyone know which cemeteries in St. Clair Co. have been transcribed?

In particular I am looking for Moore Cemetery which Lib. of MI shows that it has but I can never find, and Springhill and G. R. Kinney. I am looking for the Smiths, Lossings, Freemans, and Burnhams that are listed by cousins, and various records within these in particular.

Thanks for any information on the above in resources.

Springhill Cemetary is located in Fargo.
I believe the road is named the same thing.
Since there is no real downtown for Fargo, it is
about two miles south of (I believe if memory serves me
correctly) Avoca road. There are numerous Lossing there.
I have much information on Lossings and there are several
cousins online too that have found each other.
I am in Arizona presently and cannot check out the cemetary
for you. But the State Library in Lansing does have this
cemetary on record. I am not sure who the Sexton is but you
should contact them. Write me if you need more information.

My maternal grandmother's name was Mildred Lossing. My mother tells me she had a brother named Andy that lived in northern KY. Mildred married Harold Agnew, divorced, then remarried. Her name at death was Mildred Bartrow. If I get any more info., I will pass it along.

To find out fairly complete history of the Lossing family all the way back to 1659, go to and put in the name Pieter Petersz Lassen. You will have 12 generations of Lossings. Good luck!

From the Port Huron Daily times, Oct 29,1876 Hannah Burnham married James McKenzie, both of Kenochee. James was the only son of William McKenzie, also of Kenochee. Family history has it that James left Kenochee and was to go to Alaska, but never returned. Hannah seemed to go into a deep depression and never recovered.William McKenzie was my husbands g-grandfather. If you need further info on the McKenzie's let me know. I know nothing more of the Burnham family. Gloria Reeves
