My great grandfather was Carl Frederick Mensing, he owned and ran one of the first if not the first movie theaters there in Kansas city, He married Goldie helms and had 2 children John Frederick and Clara. He, his father, and brother all wrote the Mensing family papers which reside in standford. Beyond that, I really do not know much about my father's family John Frederick went on and married katherina renth adopting her first 2 children and producing 2 more with her, my father Carl Frederick and brother John Frederick. Beyond names I know nothing and any help would be amazing

First of all, you have posted on the board for North Dakota Unknown, which will not be very helpful. I suggest the Mensing surname board, since he was in Kansas, then ended up in Florida. It is best to start with posting on just one board per subject, then all replies will be in the same place.
Carl Frederick Mensing was born in Manhattan, Riley, Kansas November 21, 1875. He married Clara Helms October 12, 1900 in North Carolina. Interesting- the North Carolina marriage license required 3 witness signatures. There were two local people, then the third was "king Cole" of London, England - wonder if the theatrical Carl was caught short with obtaining a third witness?
1910 Census shows Carl and Goldie in Leavenworth, Kansas, no children yet
1930 census, in Tarpon Springs, Florida with children John and Mary
1940 In Miami Florida, with Goldie and children. At Ancestry, there is also a Florida divorce entry for Carl and Goldie in 1938.

Article from Manhattan Kansas, MANHATTAN NATIONALIST 10 SEPTEMBER 1886
Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Mensing, and family, went to Lawrence, Monday, via Burlingame and the Santa Fe, and from there Mr. Mensing went to Leavenworth to arrange for their son Carl to attend Mount St. Mary's academy.

The social security death index has Carl's parents as John Mensing and Clara Pfalmer. In the 1880 Manhattan Kansas census, Clara's Mother, Minnie Falmer is residing with them.

There was an article that the family of J.F. Mensing had arrived in Roseland, New Jersey, on May 20, 1890, and they planned to reside there while Mr. Mensing was on a trip to Germany.

There was mention of a G.H. Kremelberg, or Kansas City visiting, stating he was a cousin of J.F. Mensing.
