My ggmother was Anna Maria Loscher born in 1848 in Mooslerau canton Argau. Her father was Kaspar (1814-1855) and her mother Anna Maria born Hunziger in Kirchleerau. The 1850 Swiss census (LDS film # 1705879)shows many families with the Loscher/ Luscher surname.

Hi. I found our 'original' ancestor Peter Loscher thru RootsWeb.com. Go to World Connect, then type in Loscher. His descendancy is there, but it goes back no further. (He was born abt 1660 in France). Good luck!

Loscher

Dear Kristin
the Loscher name probably originated from the Losh valley in France and came to Germany via La Rochelle which is also Loscher anagram of a kind. My mother was a Loscher and claimed to have researched the family name for many years. If you can find a connection with Professor Max Loscher from Jena University in pre war Germany then let me know too as he was my great Uncle. He was a medical doctor first and then went on to alternative medicine I have reason to believe he may have been a herbalist. He had six siblings one of whom was my grandfather or Opa Paul Loscher stadtbaumeister of Stettin before WW2.

Ancestry.com has contacted me, but it seems you were answering someone else's message. My ancestors came from Switzerland (at least in the 1800's)- You appear to be looking for a French/German connection.?

Surnames: Loscher & Du Lu Pannais
Dear J loscher?

Just read your message, what do you want to know? I only know what my mother told me before she died so I cannot ask her anything else. She was German but believes that the family originated from Spain settled in France for a couple of decades and then went to Germany. I have copies of Baptismal records of her ancestors in Lippersdorf and Ottendorf in Thuringia Germany going back to 1740.

She said that the family had connections with the Du Lu Pannais surname and I have seen some 611 of that name on a French website. Unfortunately my French is only of the school book variety so I could not translate any of it.

Hope this is of some use to you

regards
