I am seeking any information that might help me in my search for John Heatherly/Hetherly b. 1770 in SC and died in Green River Township, Henderson Co., N.C. in 1854. John Heatherly married Mary Ann Ripley probably about 1791. His son, Solomon, is my ancestor and was born in N.C.about 1795 and married Elizabeth Corn, daughter of John Peter Corn and Hannah Elizabeth Parr. John Heatherly was possibly from MD (there were families there by the name of Hatherly) but I have not established that as yet. Any leads at all would be greatly appreciated.

For Mollie -- Hi; I believe we're related. One of my many-times greatgrandmothers was Hannah Heatherly, who I believe was the daughter of John and Mary Ann(Ripley)Heatherly and therefore Solomon's sister. I'm also related to John Peter Corn and Hannah Elizabeth Parr. Do you know that John Peter was with George Washington at Valley Forge? I basically have nothing about the Heatherlys, but I do have a bit of info about the Corns that might be of interest to you.

Elizabeth, Did I ever reply to you? If not, I do apologize. This has been a busy summer and I have been away a lot.

At any rate, we are related. Hannah Heatherly was a sister to my Solomon Heatherly who married Elizabeth Corn. Yes, as a matter of fact I do belong to the Valley Forge Associations for descendants who were with George Washington. I don't have much information on Hannah and would love to exchange information with you.

Thanks for writing.

I am also a descendant of John Heatherly and Mary Ann Ripley, through their son Ambrose Ripley Heatherly. Are you saying that this John Heatherly's father, who I also have as John, was born in Maryland? Do you have any information on Mary's family or on John Sr.'s wife? Also, on John Jr., I have that he had 7 siblings, but I have only been able to name one (George.) Many thanks.

My Grandfather's name was George Heatherly and he was married to Bertha . Is this your John Heatherly's brother? He lived in Tennessee.

What kind of dates are we talking about? The John Heatherly who married Mary Ann Ripley was born about 1769 and had a brother George. However, I have Heatherlys for many generations, and several Johns who have brothers named George. Hope I can help you, or you can help me!

Why don't you contact me at erho-new@seatimes.com and I'll fill you in on what I have on the Corn family and we can figure a way to exchange info.
