I see that you are looking for info on your great-grandfather, ZP Frachiseur. He is also my great-grandfather. His daughter Lottie married James O'Fallon Overturf and they had six children, one of whom was my father, Felleps Jimmie Overturf. I have Xerox copies of pictures of ZP and James Isaac. They are not very clear. I also have other information about the Frachiseurs that was compiled by my cousin, Mary Shaw Holt. I have a copy of the newspaper obituary for ZP and Jim Frachiseur, your father's brother I guess. If you don't mind giving me your mailing address I could mail copies to you. I don't have a scanner to send the pictures. My address is 6823 Shiloh Ct., Stockton, CA 95219, telephone (209) 476-9236. I would love to hear from you. Judy Rong

Dear Nanci Judith,

Welcome to the long list of Frachiseur Family Researchers! I've been looking for the history of James Issac for about 15 years. He was my Great-Great Grandfather. His daughter Sofronia was my Great-Grandmother.
I just returned this morning from a week-long research trip to Abbeville, S.C., The History Archives Center in Columbia, S.C. and Newton County Georgia Library. Unfortunately I keep hitting the same brick wall. I couldn't find any mention of his parents, however, the census of 1850 lists his birthplace as South Carolina. I couldn't find any records there, but they didn't require birth records until 1915.
There are several different spellings used. Frazier, Frucheseus, Frasure, Frashier, Frasier, Frasur, Frayser. His marriage certificate is spelled incorrectly as Frachieur.
I've corresponded over the past few years with David Frachiseur from Arkansas. He hasn't been able to get any info on the parents either. Fred Bradley is also a cousin doing research. They both have web pages.
Judith, I would love to get copies of the items/photo's you have. Right now I'm in Georgia will be here until the middle of August. When I return home to Hawaii, I will contact you. In the meantime, keep me posted if you find anything new! By the way, he is buried down the road from my mother's house.

Deanna, wish I had run into you while you were in South Carolina. I just got back last night from trip to Georgia and S.C. I went by the graveyards and made most of the county seats gathering information. Got copies of some marriage liscenses, but didn't find anything much differently than already had.

I'm not sure which country is the origination of the name. We always have heard that it was French, possibly of Irish descent. Let me know if you find anything for sure. Our earliest know ancester James Isaac Frachiseur (1812) came from South Carolina.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if you know a Brian Frachiseur or Laura Frachiseur? Possibly of Texas or Arkansas?

Yes, I know both Brian and Laura. Both my second cousins. I'm not sure exactly where they live at now, around Hooks, Texas or Texarkana, I think.
