I have a William L. Alsop in my family tree.
b.1835 in Kentucky, Father was Reuben Alsop, b.1800. Mother M. Alsop (no first name)b.1803
I also show three sisters,Mary E. Alsop,b.1840. L.C.Alsop. b.1837. and Eliza A. Alsop (my GGG Grandmother)b.1833. one brother, George A. Alsop b.1831. If any of these names help you out please get back to me. PS. Reuben Alsop was born in Virginia I think, and reuben has a brother named william b.1795

William Alsop came from Montgomeryshire, Wales, 1870. He first married Magraret Bayliss in 1848 and had 2 children. Margaret died and he married her sister, Elizabeth Bayless. They came to Clay Co, Kansas.
Children by 1st wife: John Farrington, went to Cripple Creek, CO gold mining and disappeared and Margaret Elizabeth, who married William Carr. William and his 2nd wife had: Mary "Polly", who married William Eustace, Sarah Ann, who married Edwin "Ted" Eustace, Lucy Hannah "Ann", who married Edward Southwick, James Henry, who married Effie M. Dunn, Myra Agnes, died unmarried, Frederick William, died unmarried, Basil Bayless, who married Nellie, maiden name unknown, and Dorothea who died soon after their arrival in Wakefield, Kansas.

Your Reuben Alsop was born in Culpepper Co, VA. ca 1801, he married Mildred H. Talbott, 20 Dec 1827, Union Co, KY. His 2nd marriege was in Franklin Co, IL. His brother William moved with him to Illinois and did not marry.

George A, ca 1830, Eliza A. J., ca 1832 md Azar Partick, 28 Mar 1846, William L. ca 1834, Lorrain C. "Lonnie", 1836, md Samuel Patrick, 17 Feb 1857, Mary E. ca 1839, Thomas E. 1841, md (1) Elizabeth Raines (2) Anna Shepherd.
Children of Reuben and Mrs. Sarah Finnes (Winns)
James Anthony, married Margaret Carr; Mildred, md Mr. Knapp; Florence Ann, md Mr. Woodard; Laurinda, md Mrs. Stewart; Reuben Webster, married Verbia Stone and John Green "Edward", married Mytrle O. Clark.
