Thank you, Mr. Ocho for posting this information.
I have a question and hopefully someone reading this can help.
In this posting the County Clerk is Dee Thompson and the County Surveyor is W.G. Thompson. I know that W.G. Thompson is a brother of my greatgrandfather Jesse "Sam"uel Thompson from Iron County, Missouri. Does anyone know if there is a connection between Dee and W.G.? Also does any one have information on the Dee Thompson family. Thank you in advance.

Surnames: Sullivan, Sullavan
Could this be my J.M. Sullivan I've been searching for all this time? Gannells is most likely Garretts short for garretts bluff? J.M. Stood for John Marion. His son, Elton, was born in Garretts Bluff in 1896. Next child born 1905 Texas but I don't know what town. They were in lamar many years. He was married in Lamar in 1888.
Family lore says our J.M. Sullivan (John spelled it Sullavan though. My line continued that spelling) was killed in some kind of law enforcement capability. My only family record is a family chart from JM's great granddaughter that says he was killed in 1905 in Oklahoma. It could be that he lived in Lamar at that time but was in Nearby Oklahoma in some kind of business or task when killed. Family does move to Oklahoma after his death so it's confusing.
How likely is it that there were 2 J.m. Sullivan's in Lamar in 1902? That's probably a silly question. Would he have held the title of constable for 3 years or maybe his term was over by the time he was killed.
I can't find any newspaper accounts and Ive. searched quite a bit of what I can find online. WAs much of lamar's newspaper archive destroyed in fire of 1916?
If he was killed in Oklahoma there won't be a death record for that time span. He does not have a headstone anywhere I can find or that has been uploaded anywhere online yet that I can find.
I've been kind of thinking in the back of my mind, I can't find any record until this here in terms of "law enforcement" until now, maybe he ran away and they invented this story for his kids!
