Hi Alan,
Nice to hear from you again. Yes, I'm still searching for my Briggs family. Odd that none of them were listed in the Franklin County, NY cemetery inscriptions website. I found all of yours, but not mine! Have a funny feeling that they might have been buried in Constable or Malone. I jumped up for joy when I found my Andrus and Barse family in the Dickinson cemeteries.

So how are you doing on your research? In my Barse family file, I have some Clarks. One of them is Charles N. Clark, b. ca 1823 in Chesterfield, NH, son of William Carruth Clark and Salome Hastings. All ended up in Dickinson, NY. Are these perhaps your relatives?

Thanks,
Mic

yes, those are my ancestors - CHARLES N. CLARK. He is my
3rd great grandfather.
Have you checked with any of the other cemetery websites ?
Please remind me of what names, dates and places you are
researching.
Were you searching for Cyrus BRIGGS ?
There is one listed in the civil war registrations in the
usgenweb site for Franklin county. Somtimes it gives the
parents names. I checked and all it has is birthyear of 1821
he was a shoemaker, born in vermont. served in 142nd Co. D

I am not connected to the Elipa clark line. I don't know
how you got Charles N. CLARK in that, but please remove it.
The line from Solomon and William C. is right.
There is a CYRUS BRIGGS in the 1840 census of Fort Coning-
ton, page 188.

do you have an e-mail address rather than communicatng
through this message board ?

The reason why I had Elipha Clark in that file was because his family lived in Dickinson, NY with your Clark family and I added him in case he was related. Thank you for clearing that up.

My email addy is: MicAndrus@Prodigy.net

Hello, was perusing the message boards for "barse" when I came upon your message. My Great-Grandmother, Marian Blanche Barse married my Great-Grandfather, Grover Frew. Do you have any information on Marian?? As far as I am aware, she was from Dickenson, NY - and is buried with Grandpa Grover across the street from the family farm, which is on Sayles Rd. (used to be Cook's Corner's Rd.) I am also searching for information on Grandpa Grover's family, have all the siblings and the parents names (delia phelps and jack frew), but jack frew seems to have fallen off the face of the earth!!! Grasping at straws, hope you can help.

Carrie

Hi Carrie,
Here is what I have in my files:

Elliston Harrison Barse, b. 10 Nov 1855 in Dickinson, NY, d. 25 Jun 1929 in Dickinson, NY; m. Celia L. Ross, (1857-1924) in Dickinson, NY. Both buried in E. Dickinson Cemetery. Children were: (perhaps more?)
1. Ivan Elliston Barse, b: 24 Dec 1877 in Dickinson, NY, d: 1955 in Dickinson, NY; m. Adele M. Sawyer, (1877-1961). Both buried in E. Dickinson Cemetery.
2. Genevieve Carrie Barse, b. 2 Nov 1880 in E. Dickinson, NY.
3. Blanche Myrtle Barse, b. 21 Dec 1887 in E. Dickinson, NY, d. 1941; m. Grover C. Frew, (1885-1960), son of Ernest J. Frew (1845-1904) and Delia C. Phelps (1846-1925). Grover and Blanche are buried in Sand Hill Cemetery, Dickinson, NY and Ernest and Delia are buried in Frew Cemetery, Bangor, NY.

Children of Blanche and Grover Frew:
1. Harrison "B"arse Frew, b. 1918; m. Hazel M. Perrin, b. 17 Jan 1918, d. Mar 1992 in No. Bangor, NY.
2. Betty Frew, b. 1921; m. 9 Dec 1944 Walter L. Dumville, b. 16 Feb 1917, d. 8 Jan 1998 in Brushton, NY.

You can find more on Grover's parents and siblings from the Franklin County, NY Tombstone Transcription Project at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~frgen/index.htm. There are photos of their tombstones on that site also.

Blanche Myrtle Barse was the grandniece of my 3rd great grandfather's second wife, Clarissa Amelia Barse. I would be interested in any more info that you may have on Blanche and Grover.

Mic Andrus
