I'm researching my wife's (Vercellino) family and can't get past her grandfather, Giovanni, from the Salto or Sale area 1883-1957 (died in Bisbee, AZ). His father is where we are stuck. Name also Giovanni born about 1860-65 married to Clerico(?). Their children Giovanni, Agostino and Savino (3 came to SW US) Giuseppe stayed in Italy and Cloetilda (Cecilia) became a nun in Malta. Does anyone have any of these names in their files. Thanks. Dave Raymond

I am too looking for information on the Vercellino family. All we have is my husbands father and grandmothers names - also from Salto, Italy. His name: Elfisio Vercellino Mother
: Maddalena Vercellino. He resided in or near Durango/Sopris Colorado and married Desolina Ronchetto. Some life event happened (in approx 1913) that caused my husband's father and Aunt to be sent to live with relatives in Eagerville,IL. Their names were Reinald (born 1907) and Josephine (born 1909). Any info would be greatly appricated.

Surnames: Vercellino, Ronchetto, Ronchietto, Bertino, Vacca, Perardi, Bosone, Doglio, Marchetti, Bruno
I have seen Vercellino (not in my family tree) while researching my Vacca, Bosone, Bruno, Perardi, Doglio, Marchetti, et al familes who lived in the Italian Piedmont, an area NW of Torino called the Canavese. Today, while searching the Bisbee, AZ census records for names of Italian immigrants I found a Ronchietto/Ronchetto Cresto who was the aunt of a young man, Domenico Bertino, a natural born citizen of the US, who was living with is mother in Valperga in the Canavese; he was requesting return to the US to work with his father Mike in Bisbee. Also many immigrants from the Canavese have connection to Braidwood, Will Co, Illinois. Hope these clues help in your search. If I find any definitive info about Vercellino I will post it here.

Thank you for your information. Some "Life event" took place in approx 1913 when my father-in-law and his sister were sent to live with an aunt and uncle (Frank and Barbara Ronchetto) in Ragerville, IL. we have copies of their the childrend's Baptismal (Christening) record from the Catholic church listing parents names but that is as far as we have been able to go. Have found Effisio Vercellino through Ellis Island. This is a big mystery for our family. My father-in-law would never speak of it when asked. Again, thank you for your info.
