So interesting to see these two names together. My GG Grandmother was Nancy Jane Gravatt b 24, February, 1856 in Davenport IA. She married Arnold Huskins 30, July, 1874, or 75, or 76. She died 3, March 1944, in Lincoln, IL. Her parents I think were Daniel Gravatt born in OH. and Olive Jane Green born in NY. The Broadwell Twp, IL of June 16, 1870 census list her Father as Robert born PA mother Olive J. born NY, They lists the following family living there:
Nancy J. age 13, Luvinia age 11, Daniel age 9, Benjamin age 5, Lucinda age 2, and Silas 3/12.

Ms Cubbin:

My Grandfather is Albert Francis Gravatt.

His Father and Mother were John Grannison
Gravatt and Sarah Seelye.

John Grannison Gravatt's Father and Mother
are the Dan Gravatt and Mary Olive Green you have
have referenced in your posting. I believe.

Beyond the the names of these individuals, and
the fact that a Son, John Grannison, was my
Great Grandfather all history of their lives are
unknown to me.

I am sure that the name combination that caught your
attention is more than coincidental.

May I say it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Hopefully, you would be willing to contact me in an
effort to further the extension of the Gravatt Family

My data concerning what has been found to be accurate,
and information on further research will be eagerly shared
with those so desiring.

As you most likely viewed the prior posting regarding
John Grannison Gravatt, made by Andrea Powers, a mutual
and important Gravatt linkage was established with her.

I have taken the liberty to forward a copy of this
corrensondence to her in hope she may be of help

Again, I and my family are very happy to have
received the information we were unaware of for
research, but to the future and the opportunity
it affords all.

My great-grandfather was Samuel Pleasant Gravatt, son of John Grannison Gravatt.
S.P. married Ida Susan Webster. They had my grandmother Mabel Viola Gravatt, 12 March 1906, who married lawrence Edward Alcorn. They bore 5 children including Roy Edward Alcorn, my dad. I would love to share any info you have. Most of my Gravatt info came from Pat Wegner and the Harry Eden Bible. Please contact me at my e-mail address: Deborah Price

I am looking for my Gravatt connections and keep coming up with names that I find noted in your messages. My Great-Grandmother was Emma Gravatt, b. IL (possibly Logan Co.) 2Oct1871. Her marriage license on 18Feb1890 names parents as Robert Gravatt and Sarah Green. In the 1880 soundex I find an Emmaline in Logan Co., Broadwell Twp. with parents Robert, age 62, b. PA and Olive, age 40, b. NY. I know she had two sisters for sure, a Julia and a Lucinda. I have found marriage records for both these ladies in Logan Co. IL. I have also fun across the Green/Gravatt/Huskins information. I found so many names to be similar...Daniel, Olive, Lucinda,Benjamin, Charles....that I wanted to see if you could help me make a connection. I have bits and pieces of the puzzle, but nothing comfortable. My Emma married an Englishman, Benjamin Robson, in Red Oak, Montgomery Co., Iowa. Thank you for your time.

According to information I have on Census's...1870, June 18 Broadwell Twp lists the following: Robert 48 PA, Olive J. 38 NY, Nancy J 13 IL, Luvinia 11 IL, Daniel 9 IL, Benjamin 5 IL, Lucinda 2 IL and Silas 3/12 IL.
...Census 1880, June 2 Broadwell Twp lists Robert Gravat 62 PA PA PA, Olive 40 NY NY NY
Daniel 20 MO PA NY, Benjamin 14 IL IL IL, Lucy 12 IL IL IL Emiline 8 IL IL IL, Prilie 6 IL IL IL Chester 2 IL IL IL.
I am thinking Robert's middle name was Daniel or he possible went by Daniel later in life as a copy of Nancy Jane (Gravatt) Huskins Certificate of Death shows her father as Daniel born in OH and mother Olive Jane Green Born NY. This was submitted by Mrs. A. Huskins (Agnes Huskins Eckert) I am not sure if Agnes put the right information on the death cert... but if I get a chance someday I will be doing more research to try and clear up the connections. I have a copy of the Logan County Directory page 452 that lists Gravett R. farmer, Sec. 18; P.O. Lincoln; liberal Broadwell Twp. I have no other information on the Gravatt/Green family but am hoping someday to find some.
