This David Preston was born on 04 Jun.1826 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England. His parents were Elizabeth James Preston, b.abt 1797 in Ireland, d. 05 Dec.1863 in Dale County, Alabama. James Preston Elizabeth Jane Clark were married abt.1825 in Ireland or England. Elizabeth Jane Clark, b. abt 1798 in Ireland, d. abt 1870 in Dale County, Alabama.
I show that Elizabeth and James Preston had six children. They were;

This Robert Knight Carswell was the son of Mahala Knight Edward Carswell, II., b. abt.1797. Edward, II. Was the son of Jane Trimble Edward Carswell, I., b. Dec.1755. Edward, I. Was the oldest son of Isabella Roche Brown Alexander Carswell. Alexander Isabella came to America in 1772 with their six children on the ship Elizabeth and settled near Savannah, Ga.
