I was adopted after about 9 mos. I have no info on my birth family. I know that I was born in Huron county, Norwalk, Ohio. I am doing research on a Peggy Carroll that left the hospital with a baby girl around my birth? Anything sound familiar?pls email me at if so.

My brother is a James Palmer Carroll and he is looking for his Dad. My brother's Dad was married to Mary Lou Richmond in 1962 in Maine and had Jimmy in 1963 divorced in 1964 then he married a woman named Dotty DeRouche and moved to Florida. He had one brother Gary Carroll and a 1/2 sister Patty Johnson. Does any of this sound the same? Sorry if not the same. Thank You, Wendy ( Mrs

Sorry for not responding sooner, but I just found this message. I was in the Air Force for 14 years, and we just returned from our second tour in Germany. I met my wife in Germany in 2001 and we got married shortly after returning to the states in 2004. We have two children (boy and girl).

My GG Grandfather's name was James Alfred Carroll, born in TN around 1826. We believe he is the son of Henry Carroll (brother to Alfred Carroll). My GG Grandfather had a son named James Madison Carroll and this Great Grand Uncle named his son James Alfred Carroll... I think we have a connection Linda.
Has any male of your Carroll line done a DNA? We daddy passed away in 2009. All of my line remained in Bradley County, TN... the rest went to MO and out west.

Hello Kathy,

From what I can find my Grandfather James Alfred Carroll Jr. (b. 16 Jan, 1923 Benton, Arkansas), is the son of James Alfred Carroll Sr. (b. 4 March, 1888 in Benton, Arkansas), and Ida Myrtle Rowles (b. 7 October, 1891 in Ethel, Texas). Ida Myrtle Rowles died within 4 months of my Grandfathers birth.

James Alfred Carroll Sr. (b. 4 March, 1888) was the son of Dr. Thomas Wesley Carroll (b. 25 May, 1853 in Valley Springs, Arkansas) and Martha (Marthy) Jane Wilburn (b. 21 August, 1859 in Pilot Point, Arkansas).

Dr. Thomas Wesley Carroll (b. 25 May, 1853) is the son of James Madison Carroll (b. 26 March, 1826 in Bedford, Tennessee) and Nancy Caroline Simms (b. 2 Jan, 1822 in Campbellsville, Tennessee).

James Madison Carroll (b. 1826) is the son of Felix Carroll (b. 3 August, 1797 in Richmond Virginia) and Martha Morrow (b. 1799 in Georgia).

Felix Carroll (b. 3 August, 1797) is the son of Timothy Carroll (b. 1775 Virginia) and Agnes Aggy Higginbotham also found as Hickenbottom (b.1778 in Virginia).

This is the link to the records I found.

I did find the grave of James Madison Carroll (b. 1826 Bedford County Tennessee) His Father is Felix Carroll Born 3 Aug, 1797 in Richmond Virginia and Martha Morrow.

Hope this helps narrow some things down.
