Joseph Muth emigrated to America from Alsace-Lorraine area in France, ca 1873. He married Elizabeth Hunger in Butler Co., OH on January 28, 1881. They lived in Delhi Twp. (Steiner Avenue) in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.

Joseph Muth was born in "France," but of German origin, on June 6, 1852 and died in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 9, 1902. He was a "huckster" of vegetables. His untimely death was due to an accidental train-wagon incident at the Sunnyside Crossing on the Lower River Road. He left behind one son and two daughters, Joseph A. Muth (b. April, 1882, moved to Cook Co., IL); Mary Josephine Muth, Jan. 11, 1885 - Jun. 18, 1955, m. Joseph William Oehler); and, Anna Muth (b. Mar., 1889, m. Henry Rueger). Two sons died before maturity, Edward Muth, buried Nov. 1, 1891, 11 days old; and August C. Muth, buried Nov. 4, 1893, 6yrs 11 mos. Burial places for this family are mostly at St. Joseph's Old Cemetery.

Elizabeth Hunger-Muth remarried to Charles Kaiser. She was born in Ohio Oct. 26, 1862 to John Oehler? and Anna Kuon? She raised her own children as well as Mr. Kaiser's, who was from Switzerland. She died in Cincinnati on Jul. 30, 1940.

The church this family attended was Our Lady of Perpetual Help -St. Mary's.

I am looking for descendants of Joseph A. Muth and his sister Anna Muth-Rueger. Am also interested in corresponding with researchers who may know more about Joseph Muth, Sr.'s siblings and parentage.
