Do you have any more information about Jens Aas ? When was he born, and when did he come to America ? Do you know his parents name ?
I am looking for a Jens Tørrisen Aas, b. 3. Jan. 1853, Rennebu, Norway.
Could he be the one who married Julie ?

Best regards Inger

It looks like this is him at

It has his wife listed as Anna Hansen Aas, but perhaps he remarried after Julie's death?

Thank you very much for you answer. However he is not the Jens I am looking for. His parents were Tørris Arntsen Aas and wife Ingeborg Pedersdatter born Voll.
It is progress to have one more name to concider too.

I was not able to use the link to the one married to Anna Hansen Aas.

Thanks again.

Thank you very much. This must be him even if the birth date do not fit exactly. Jens Torrisen Aas was born 3. jan. 1853, Rennebu. I cannot find anyone here born with that name on 23. dec. 1853.

This must be Anna Hansen Aas and family after her husbands death:
1895, Sherman, Dunn, Wisconsin:
Annie Torrison, 2 male, 3 female, 4 US born, 1 Scandinavian el. Holland

1900: Sherman, Dunn, Wisconsin
Ever A Dahl, head, sept. 1870, 29, M, 6, Norway,
Anna E Dahl, wife, apr. 1867, Norway, 33, M, 6, 5-5, Norway, imm. 1892, 7, pa., farmer
Axel H Dahl, son, may 1895, 5, Wisconsin, imm. 1882, 17, house work
Mary S Dahl, daughter, aug. 1897, 2, Wisconsin,
John E Dahl, son, feb. 1899, 1, Wisconsin,
Ella Thoreson, stepdaughter, sep. 1887, 12, Wisconsin,
Gerta Thoreson, stepdaughter, oct. 1890, 9, Wisconsin,
Tom Thoreson, boarder, jul. 1883, 16, Wisconsin,
Charley Thoreson, boarder, mar. 1886, 14, Wisconsin,

1910: Sherman, Dunn, Wisconsin
Ever Dahl, head, 39, M1, 14, Norway, imm. 1892, na., farmer
Anna Dahl, wife, 43, M2, 14, 10-10, Norway, imm. 1873, none
Ella Oass, stepdaughter, 22, S, Missouri, norske foreldre, none
Grity Oass, stepdaughter, 19, S, Wisconsin, norske foreldre, none
Axel Dahl, son, 13, S, Wisconsin, none
Mary Dahl, daughter, 12, S, Wisconsin, none
John Dahl, son, 11, S, Wisconsin, none
Alvin Dahl, son, 9, S, Wisconsin, none
Hulda Dahl, daughter, 8, S, Wisconsin,none
Tom Dahl, son, 6, S, Wisconsin, none
Ever Dahl, son, 3, S, Wisconsin, none
Agnes Dahl, daughter, 1, S, Wisconsin, none

Annas children from her first marriage use the name Thoreson in 1900 and Oass in 1910 (Oass or Aas was Jens' surname originally).

Her is Annas son Axels death, showing that her maiden name is Hanson:
Minnesota, Death Index, 1908-2002
Name: Axel J. Dahl
Birth Date: 12 May 1896
Death Date: 18 Jun 1969
Death County: Hennepin
Mother's Maiden Name: Hanson
State File Number: 015982
Certificate Number: 015982
Certificate Year: 1969

Thank you very, very much for your help. You helped me find the correct one.

Best regards Inger

Here is an obituary for Ever Dahl Jr. It is from this site

Ever A. Dahl, Jr.
August 1982
Submitted by Carol Severson
Funeral services for Ever A. Dahl, Jr., 75, Rt. 6, Menomonie, are 1:30 p.m., August 12, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. Hilmar Mostul officiating.
Interment is in the Halverson Cemetery. Visitation is 4-9 p.m., Wednesday, 9-11 p.m. Thursday, and at the Church one hour before services. Dahl died August 9 at the Dunn County Health Care Center.

Born Sept. 14, 1906, in the Town of Sherman, Dunn County, Dahl, the son of Ever and Anna Hanson Dahl, was raised in the Menomonie area. He served in the Army in WWII, then worked as maintenance engineer at Memorial Hospital for 22 years, retiring about 10 years ago.

He is survived by two brothers, John Dahl of Menomonie, Alvin Dahl, Bloomer; his sister, Agnes (Mrs. William) Watland, Rt. 3 Menomonie; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements by the Olson Funeral Home.

Also, this looks like your Charley Thoreson Oas - it matches the birth for an Oas born in Dunn County.

CHARLES OAS was born 06 March 1886, got Social Security number 393-09-7262 (indicating Wisconsin,) and died December 1964. Unfortunately, it doesn't say what city he died in in the index

If I have the right Charley Oas, this is his daughter

Thank you very much again. I have not found the obits earlier.
However I am not sure if Charles Oas is connected to the Aas/Oas/Toreson family. He is a boarder by Ever and Anna in 1900, but I have not been able to find any connection to this family. Is it just a coinsident with the same name, or is it something I do not see ?

Best regards Inger

I do find a link with Tom Oas, who was also listed as a boarder in 1900. There can be various reasons why the two would be listed as boarders, perhaps they didn't get along with their step-dad or some other reason.

1930 census for Menomonie, Dunn County
Gerhart Gunnufson, age 32, head
Gertie Gunnufson, age 39, wife
Ever Dahl, age 59, father in law
Anna Dahl, age 62, mother in law
Tom C. Dahl, age 26, brother in law
Ever A. Dahl, age 23, brother in law
Agnes L. Dahl, age 21, sister in law

1940 census, Menomonie, Dunn County
Tom Oas, age 56, Widow
Gordon L. Oas, age 18, son
Gertrude Gunnufson, age 49, sister, widowed

Here is Gertrude's death

If you check earlier censuses, it appears Gertrude and her husband had no children. Tom Oas appears in earlier censuses with his wife and children.

Are you familiar with - you can find Anna Dahl buried here with a death date of June 17, 1952.
If you click on the name of the cemetery, below where it says burial, you can search for all others who are buried there (note, there is no guarantee all people buried there are in this list);

You might consider putting a request for an obit look up for Anna on the Dunn County message board, that should list her children. The cemetery link has some biographical information, but only lists her children by Ever Dahl.
