We do not have a National Registry of Birth,Marriage,Death in Canada.

Every Province is responsible for these - Some Provinces have sites for BMD - that are now considered Public Record.
and can be searched online. Registrations then available from the Provincial Vital Statistics Dept or the Provincial Archive. All other information that falls outside of the set boundaries are still considered Private - May be available from the Provincial Govt - Vital Statistics dept. There may be restrictions as to who may be able to obtain same.

Ancestry may have some information - but will not be as complete as the full registrations. They do not have access to information held by the Provinces and not made available to the Public.

What Location/s in Canada are you searching?

What is the Time Frame you are researching?
What are the full names of the persons you are researching?
Dates of birth etc -siblings etc

Automated Genealogy- shows Census to 1911 -
1916 Census can be found at Ancestry - [some Public Libraries subscribe to Ancestry -and allow public access]

1911 Census shows: TRICKET -Alberta 2, Manitoba 8, Ontario 39, Saskatchewan 3.
RUTLEDGE - 734 Nationwide Canada.
Alberta 35, British Columbia 36 -Manitoba 79
New Brunswick 6, Nova Scotia 65 -Ontario 433- Quebec 3
Saskatchewan 46. Yukon Territories 1.

Searching Provincial Archive of BC Vital Events Index -
finds 5 TRICKET Marriages
Oliver Alfred 1911, Frederick E 1915
Christine Ivy 1922 Donald George 1926 -Alexander D 1932.
Site shows 33 TRICKETT deaths -[there is an error in entries - some names appear twice - some 3 times ]
Without first names - to many RUTLEDGE

There are Volunteers at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness British Columbia: ANY who offer Lookup of Public Record can transcribe -copy information found. copies aprox 50cents or less depending oncopy machine.
*site charges much more - Vital Stats charges $50.
Some Volunteers search Obituaries.

Province of Alberta has not made any of the Vital Records available to search online:

From Alberta GenWeb Local History Book site
Our Foothills; Foothills
Jarvie, Our Continuing Legacy; Westlock
TRICKETT, Jack & Laura; TRICKETT, Leslie & Mary;

Sask Vital Statistics Online -Limited

In your posts have[the given and surnames, dates and locations of the people you are interested in.
I assume you are interested in Leslie Rutledge whom you say died in NS on the Cape Breton MB.

Also fill in the surnames in replies.
