Try Kornegay genealogy. There are many Outlaws intermarried
all through the family.

I agree the Kornegay's intermarried with a lot of surnames, and someone has done a good job of their search, but there is a few marriages that were not there most of them were the Grimes that married into the Kornegay family.
In the Joel Hines Will,at the Lenoir Co.,NC courthouse the surnames mention are,A.J. Loftin,W.C. Loftin,Wm W.Hunter,Gliston(could have been change to Glisson? does anyone know? ). Bethany & Stephen Grimes, Wm Kornegay. Does anyone know how the Kornegay's , Loftin's and Outlaw's relate to the JOEL HINES family. I have found a FREDRICK OUTLAW married to NANCY KORNEGAY their dau Elizabeth m Wm Hines is this the son of Joel Hines and Patience Gulley Hines?

Thanks for any help given

Hi...My family (Whitfield) married into the Outlaws quite a bit in our family tree...we are originally from Bertie County, NC and moved through Tennessee to Kentucky and then my grandfather came up to Indiana through southern Illinois. We also have Loftin's in our family tree as well.

My mother was an Outlaw, born in San Gabriel, Texas. Her father came from Kentucky and was a direct descendent of Edward Outlaw (172* - 1759), Bertie County, N.C.. Her mother was a Barclay from Alabama. I have a geneolgy of the Outlaw family covering 1273-1972. It has a cross reference of quite a few names. Each name is cross referenced to individual listings. I am not sure of how you can get a copy as I have no address for the geneologist other than Abner Henry Outlaw; Greensboro, N.C.

If I can get any other information I will let you know.

This is a shot in the dark, but I noticed your name was Hammond, and that you listed Loftin as one of your surnames. I decend from Samuel Amos Hammond and Hannah Penelope Loftin. Their daughter Mary Elizabeth Hammond b. 9/25/1856 was my ggg grandmother. Any relation?

I'm researching my ancestors in Lenoir Co. William Kornegay (no dates) was the father of Elizabeth Kornegay(b.1802,d.1866)who married Whitfield Grady. Their child was Charlotte Grady who married Haywood Waller. Their daughter, Cora Emeline married Stephen Hazy Davenport who were my g-grandparents. I'm looking for earlier information on William Kornegay--his wife, dates of birth/death, parents, etc. I'm unaware of how the Kornegay's relate to the Hines. Sorry.

My ancestors are traced through William Whitfield (b.1690's) in England and settled in Bertie Co.N.C. His father was Matthew Whitfield (B.1670's) in England and his father was Baronet Thomas Whitfield of Lancanshire England. Do you have any other information along these lines? William's children settled eventually in Duplin then Lenoir County where they married into the Grady, Waller , and Davenport families.
