Looking for decendants of James J. Quinn. Known to be in the Sacramento area in 1954. His father was James M. Quinn and Bridget Elizabeth Irvine (Irving?) Originally from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. James M. died in 1936, Bridget in 1954.

Are there any relatives still in California who might be connected to this family? This has become a search of desperation.

If there are no male decendants of James J. Quinn, then this particular branch of the Quinn family will die out with my nephews. They are the LAST living male decendants of James Quinn and Catherine Ann Overn - who are James J.'s grandparents.

My oldest nephew carrying the surname only has girls and can have no more children. The youngest has chosen to never marry. All other decendants of James and Catherine either never married, or only had girls, or their sons only had girls.

Please, are you a decendant of James J. Quinn? e-mail me!

To my knowledge, they were from Donegal. We have the family traced back to the mid to late 1700's in the southwest part of Donegal.

But I talk to several Quinns who are in Tyrone who feel we have a connection. Our general theory is confusing, but seems plausible. Under the rule of King Niall and his descendants' rule, most of the family was located in Tyrone. There were many who were also in Donegal. They basically pretty much were everywhere in that area.

Time goes on, and the families separate into distinct modern branches. But we are thinking that a branch that was located in Tyrone may have broke off and relocated in Donegal, near other family. This separated this one branch even more. And this is probably my branch.

So, don't write off that we may not be connected. Fact is, go back far enough, and we are. It's just a matter of finding that missing link.

Feel free to drop me a line. I spend most of my life tracing Quinns, and we could have a closer connection than we think!
