COLEMAN MARION COPAS, son of Smith and Mary (Hayslip) Copas, was born November 3, 1894, at Blue Creek. He was a veteran of World War I. His death occurred June 19, 1955. He was married to Ruth Elizabeth Taylor in 1922, and they had children: Harold, of Lynx, Ohio; Mrs. Geneva Brozee and Johnny Copas, of West Union; and a daughter, Mary, at home. Besides these children, his aged father, Smith Copas, of Blue Creek, one sister, Lola Randolph, of Cincinnati, three grandchildren, Junior Copas, Larry and Cindy Bozee, survive. His mother, Mary Copas, and a granddaughter, Dianne Copas, predeceased. – Defender, 07-07-1955

West Union Resident Expired Monday
Harold Copas, 59, of Route 125, West Union, died Monday at Scioto Memorial Hospital in Portsmouth following a sudden illness.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maxine Grooms Copas; two sons, Harold Jr. of Wheelersburg and Mickey, at home; a brother, John of Winchester, two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Brozee and Miss Mary Copas, both of West Union; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Services 2 p.m. Thursday at East Liberty Church with Rev. Volley Reed officiating. Interment in the church cemetery under the direction of Lafferty Funeral Home.

Harold Copas, son of the late Coleman Copas and Ruth Taylor Copas, was born April 1, 1923 in Adams County and passed away at the Scioto Memorial Hospital Monday, February 28, 1983 at the age of 59 years.
Harold was united in marriage on April 30, 1946 to Maxine Grooms, sharing almost 37 years of happiness together. To bless this union were three children: two sons, Harold Copas of Route 1, Wheelersburg and Mickey Copas, at home; and one daughter, who died in infancy.
Also surviving are one brother, John Copas of Winchester; two sisters, Geneva Brozee of West Union and Mary Copas of West Union; five grandchildren, Randy Copas, Chris Hodgson and Christy Ramey, all of Sardinia, Scottie Jay Copas and Dena Crisp, both of Route 1, Wheelersburg, and one great-grandchild, Jennifer Ramey of Sardinia.
He will be sadly missed by wife, children, grandchildren, brother, sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
