Separate families in to individual trees

Good afternoon

I'd simply like to create individual trees for each of my family lines in order to share separately with relatives.
For example I'd like to have a tree for my father's side and a tree for my mother's.

Is it possible to export sections individually using this website or would I require something of a third party nature to achieve this before reimporting back into ancestry?

Thank you

I think you could just start a new tree under a new heading with one name and details listed. Then i think your first tree will come up as hints.
Worth a go.

You can't do the splitting online. You'd need a stand alone desktop program to do that.

A desktop program would (depending on the specific programs and settings) allow you to run reports on different lines without having to actually maintain separate trees.

You also wouldn't have to re-import to Ancestry.

What you could do is:
1). Do all data entry work in one online tree on Ancestry.
2). Download GEDCOM from Ancestry and import to your desktop program.
3). Run whatever reports you want from Desktop program.
3a). Before importing another GEDCOM download from Ancestry be sure to delete tree from desktop program.
4). When you want new reports just download new GEDCOM from Ancestry and re-import to desktop program.

(Deleting the old import from the desktop program eliminates any chance of duplication and always insures most recent data is used from Ancestry)

I assumed I'd need to use third party software to achieve this but thought I'd ask first.

However out of interest I tried creating an additional tree but it didn't work as suggested.

I'm happy to do it with software but will indeed concentrate on getting the overall tree populated first.

Thank you for your suggestions.
