Illness in MS in 1852

I have several adult relatives from the same Dean family that all died in either Lowndes or Choctaw County MS in the same year, 1852. It is making me wonder if there was a particular plague or illness that was documented around this time. I can't find anything yet.
Thank you,
Jocelyn

Hi,

1852, Nationwide (New Orleans 8,000 die in summer) Yellow Fever

Guess it was running rampant througout the South. The Choctaw County Historical & Genealogical Society
