I recently found out my gggrandfather was Wiley A. Wilkerson from AL, b. abt. 1834. He moved to Mississippi (MS) and married Sarah Ann Watson appx. 1860. Does this ring a bell. Any info on Wilkersons from AL would be appreciated. I just started looking.

I have done extensive research on the Wilkersons
as related to the Jaggers who came out of Chester
County Sc in the 1790's.

The Wilkerson's are originally from Penn. moved to
Virginia and then on to SC. They intermarried with
Jaggers and Logstons/Logsdons.

Four Jaggers brothers and their entire family (we're
talking spouses, married children and their families
and children still living at home} started trek
to KY.

One of the Jaggers brothers did not go any further
than Limestone County, Al The Library in Huntsville
has an extensive file on him and his kin as he
was highly decorated in the Revolution.

Quite a few Wilkerson's can be found in Harden, and
Hart County, KY.

Don't know if any of this will help, but I do know
that the Jaggers, Wilkerson's, Ashbaugh's, Atterberry's
(all spellings) are part and parcel of the same family.

Good Luck,

Gayle

THERE IS A COMMUNITY IN ALABAMA CALLED SCOTLAND JUST SOUTH OF UNION SPRINGS . THERE ARE A LOT OF WILKERSONS THERE.. MY GGGRANDFATHER JOHN WILKERSON, AND HIS BROTHER ARCHIE CAME FROM SCOTLAND U.K. AND MIGRATED TO N.C. MAYBE THEN TO GA. AND THEN ON TO ALABAMA. THEY FINALLY ENDED UP IN ASHLEY CO, ARK. IF YOU SEARCH FOR A VERY SCOTISH NAME ,CHECK THIS AREA IN ALABAMA,AS THESE SETTLEMENTS HOLD MUCH INFORMATION.
