Hollis Family Tree

Michael James Hollis (View posts)

Moses Holis, Sr. came from Fairfax County Virginia. To the best of my knowledge he was the son of a John Hollis who had a tobacco plantation there as of 1690. This would mean that tjere may have been two John Hollis' there at the same time. Other locations for this line of the Hollis Family tree prior to 1700 in the U.S. are Chester County PA. I am given to understand that before that time this branch of the Hollis family came down from Mass. Please note that Harvard University was originally called The Hollis School of Divinty (mid 1600's.
