Vivian Jeanette Thompson 18 and her daughters Maurice 3 and Latoya 8 mo all died 25 Oct 1978 in Dallas. Vivian was stabbed to death and the daughters died from smoke inhalation and burns after the murderer set fire to the house. The death certificate for each states they were buried in Session Cemetery, Woodville, Texas. I have been unable to locate Session Cemetery in Tyler County.
Pinkston's Mortuary, Dallas handled the services according to the death certificate but they have apparently closed.

Does anyone know if there is a Session Cemetery in Woodville? Presumably it would be an African American cemetery and may have a different name now.

And information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rex Kirby

Hi,

What a tragic story. My condolenses.

I did a Google search for the cemetery but didn't find it.

You can contact the Tyler County Genealogical Society, http://kcfalcon.tripod.com/TCGS

or
PO Box 2022
Woodville 75979

The Whitmeyer Library, http://www.heritage-village.org/genealogy.htm might have information about it too.

If you still don't find info about it, do a Google search for funeral homes in Tyler County. Surely one of them will recognize the name. Successful Searching!
