I ran into Silas Scruggs Stacey's grave site several years ago. I would like to discuss the condition of the site with a family memeber. Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" (Hensley) Stacey was Silas Scruggs Stacey's second wife. She was the sister of one of my ancestors. He is not in my direct line. Please e-mail me at jackiej@ipa.net.

I visited my great grandfather silas staceys grave last october, in 2006. The yard was well trimmed and all the stones were lined up in a row. My grandfather, James Silas Stacey is buried alongside the tall towering tomb of Dr. Silas.

Silas' tomb had a photo of him anchored to it with a red rubber band of some sort, it also appeared that the image had been glued on the tomb.

I was pleased to see the actual tomb. We went down the road toard harrison and found other kin buried in sexton cemetary (wife and daughters of my grandpa james), the Wrays (sescendents of Minnie Stacey Wray, who was my grandfathers oldest daughter, my aunt. and others of her family at white church cemetary, and elmwood cemetary where floyd stacey and almon stacey, dads brothers are buried, they were also children of james silas, my grandfather.

Further up the mountain as you move away from jasper and harrison to the top of Mont Sherman are buried the Devoe Staceys, children of James Silas marriage to Martha Poyner. Buried there are Martha Poyner Stacey, his second wife, Silas Devoe Stacey, their son, and devoe's wife and other kin.

Quite a few of our kin are buried in the area between harrison and the other side of mount sherman in various places.

I have been researching Silas Scruggs Stacy for several years. He would be a ggg Uncle. His brother John H Stacy was my ggg grandfather. I would love to connect to any of my family members that may still be in the Jasper Ark Area. Love to converse about the trail of tears and any other information there may be of their life in the Ozarks.
