Probably a long shot but name and dates are close: My great grandfather, John McNamara, married a Delia Guinan abt 1902, this was a second marriage for both. Delia was previously married to Patrick Guinan who died.
To complicate the info I think Delia was a Guinan before she married Patrick because she may have been cousin to my maternal grandfather George P. Guinan (who, to close the loop for you, married Mary McNamara)

I've come across a Delia Guinan in my digging. I'm from the Boston area, and there's a grave of a John J. Guinan, buried in Boston (died 3/26/12 @ 48 yrs.). The Owner of record is Delia Guinan. John was married to Bridget and had 8 children. John is related to my Guinan family. He was the brother of my gr grandfather, William F. This is all in the Boston area. Is this at all connected to your digging?? Thanks from Dottie in Boston

Can you give me some information on Willaim F? Did he have a sister Ann and a brother Phillip? When was he born?

Sorry this response is so late in coming. For some reason I was unaware of your posting. Normally I receive an e-mail notifying me. I don't know if Delia had a brother or cousin John. Boston would certainly be logical since she settled in Hartford, CT. I do know that Delia was born in 1875 in Kings County Ireland. Of her past, all I know is that her father was Hugh Guinan and her mother's maiden name was Bridget Dolan. Was there any other information on the grave record? Did it reference John Guinan's parents?

Hi Richard, and I too apologize for my late reply to your message. The plot thickens in that I know of a Guinan in the Boston area who was related to a Hugh Guinan. I spoke with him quite a while back, and he thought we weren't related. But this Delia name pops up in my family, and I am sure if I dig a little further, we'll show some connection to the families. I'm a little inundated by life at the moment, but I will dig some old notes out shortly.

I just returned from Ireland for a month -- I swapped homes with a family and we stayed in Cork. We did take a road trip up to the Athlone area for a few days and met many Guinans - all of whom I believe there's a connection - this is in the South Roscommon/West Offaly area - near Shannonbridge/Clonmacnoise. Although I met some Guinans in Burr and Ferbane, I think my particular connection is in Moore Parish, near the Shannon River. Did meet a gentleman, Thomas Guinan, who I believe is related to me. It was a fun trip and I now have a few more tangents to pursue. Best regards. Dottie Guinan
