Does anyone have any information on Thomas Jefferson Cramblit who was born June 23, 1883 in Ottawa, Iowa. His parents were Samuel Cramblit and Sarah Dunkle. He seemed to have some connection with Joplin, Missouri. My dad (Robert Cramblit) says that there is indian on the Cramblit side. I don't know how it fits into the Cramblit line.

Dear Sheryl, My grandfather, William Elsworth Cramblit, was born 12-25-1862 in Ohio.On my Family Tree I have Samuel, b. 1836 d.1913 married to Sarah A. Dunkle in 1860. They had a son Thomas J. Samuel was a brother to my great-grandfather Andrew William Cramblit and Elizabeth Susan Halley.
There is a family website on called 'Cramblett Cousins' on Myfamily.com, there you will find a wealth of information on all the Cramblits and their various spellings. With what you have given so far, either you are, or may be one of our 'cousins'.
I would love to hear from you. I have been searching for Native American blood lines in our family for some time now. Although my family relates it as originating with my Grandmother Inez Mosher Cramblit. I also have much information, thanks, in part, to my many 'cousins' at our website.
I have found a Mosher and a Cramblit from the BIA and IIM listings and have more information along those lines. Hope to hear from you. Sincerely Shirley 'Cramblit' Salinas

Hi, I am a descendant of Samuel Cramblit also, and am interested in whether you have found more info about the Native American line, I too have heard that there is a family member, but never have been able to find her. Elaine

Hi, I'm a Cramblit descendant too, my grandmother Viola Mae is Thomas Jefferson's daughter. I have a lot of information about the family, but he and Lula Matthews were divorced when grandma was about 12, so I don't know much about where he lived after they split up. I do have his death dates, etc though. I have also heard there is Indian blood in the family, and looking at some of the pictures of the girls, I"m sure it's true, but I haven't found any records that identify them as sIndian. I have written a book called 'the Haines/Cramblit Chronicles', which has all the research I've found on the family, if you're interested. Elaine Farr
