someone else has claborn Carr as a brother and john as a father for john and clayborn and Stephen Carr,the father john was supposidly in jackson County al in 1840 also.

John Carr appears in an index of soldiers who participated in the Cherokee Removal War. He was a member of Gover's Company, Norwood's Battalion, from Jackson County, AL

John Carr also served in the Florida War. He was a private in Coffey's Company of Cawlfield's Battalion of Alabama Mounted Volunteers. He served in that unit with George W. Keith

Thank you for the information, it seems to line up with some of my research. Seems the Carr family and Keith family traveled together. I have been able to trace them traveling to llinois.
