Seeking information on Anna Erbskorn (1873-1951) and her husband Gotlieb Baum/Baun (1864-1907). Anna was the daughter of Johannes and Barbara Erbskorn. She married Gotlieb sometime around 1892. Both are buried at Ottokee Cemetery. I believe that most of the Erbskorn children resided in or around the Pettisville area, with one son, William, moving to Indiana.
There is a bit of confusion as to whether or not Gotliebs surname was Baun or Baum. Some of their children used the name Baun whereas others carried the Baum surname. I am really hoping to get to the bottom of this mystery, but as of yet have hit nothing but dead ends.
I would appreciate any and all information anyone might have regarding this family, it's descendants or other relatives. .

I solved the mystery as to who Gotliebs parents were. He was the son of John Thomas Baun (1828-1892) and Magdalena Baun (1832-1900) Also known to go by Thomas Baun. Other children of John and Magdalena included David (married Mary Hime). Caroline (married Christian Eberly), Mary (married CW Krauss), and two daughters, Sophie and Friederike, that died in 1883. Would love any information on this family.

My great grandfather John Erbskorn (1848-1924) had a 2nd wife Anna K. Baum (1843-1925) According to my notes, she and her first husband had children: Alfred, George, Freida, Carrie, and either an Ervin or Elmer (or both). You showed an Anna Erbskorn from 1873-1951 whose parents were: Johannas & Barbara Erbskorn. Barbara Erbskorn was my great grandfather's first wife - they did not have a Anna as a child - so this Anna must be from a different family. There must be another John or Johannas Erbskorn with the child Anna who then married a Baum or Baun.

Is this the Barbara Erbskorn that died shortly after arriving in the states? If so, my great great g'mother married John Erbskorn after she passed away.

I cannot help with the Baum/Baun confusion but it is my humble opinion that it was an emigration miscue. However, I can confirm from documents passed down by my mother (Laurena Etta Baum Rychener) that Grampa George Baum was Anna Erbskorn's son along with sibs Alfred, Etta J, Frieda, Carrie, Ervin and Elmer. These documents include the Switzer-Dietz Family files, dated Aug 1999. It is also my opinion that Anna's full name was Anna Gertrude Erbskorn and that her mother was Barbara Dietz Erbskorn who was married to John (Johannes) Erbskorn.

Thank you for confirming that Grampa George's father was Gotlieb. I had the name penciled in but with so many Anna's and John's in the family who can be sure - I had to check the birth dates to realize that there indeed was a generation gap.
