Someone told me they thought the hotel had burned down. 1817 to 1903 is 86 years - do you think there were 2 Evander McRaes, one who built in 1817 and a son who had it till 1903?

My great-grandfather, Archibald McDonald was manager of the McRae Hotel from about 1895-1901 & a great friend of the McRae family. I have a picture of the hotel, copied from an old book. I would think the Glengarry News would have an obituary of your ancestor.
