Hi Cousin,

I'm Susan Wright (married: Kielpinski) > Theodore James Wright > Marguerite Catherine Cunningham > Minnie Ann Swasey H. M. Swasey (spellings vary Hennel Heneneal Haneneal etc) M. Swasey, (may be Morrill or Miles) born abt 1845 Iowa > Hemeneal (other spellings) Morrill Swasey > Joseph Swasey > Dudley Swasey, and that's probably as far back as you need.

My most important question is regarding Heneneal the son of Joseph, his wife was Eliza Ann, it is listed in some sources as Boree, however there were no known Boree's at the time and place for this marriage, and she is claimed to have lived locally. Also 1 record (the B. F. Swasey book I believe) lists her as Eliza Ann Boree born about 1800 Scotland. Her census listings and that of her children list her as either Vermont or New York.

I have come to believe that it is more likely that she was Eliza Ann Bovee, the daughter of Jacob Bovee and Elizabeth Redding, born about 1802 in New York, and moved with her family to Barnet, Vermont when she was about 12-13.

In the handwriting of the time v and r can be mistaken for each other and that is what I believe happened.

It is really important to me to find proof if it is available, of the Bovee connection. Also, a grandson of Heneneal and Eliza Jane was named John Bovee Swasey on his WWI Draft Registration both in type and in his very clear signature.

I am also actively working down the Swasey family tree to living descendants wherever I can, and want to be able to offer them the most accurate information that I can. So, Yes, I, am very interested in this book.

Cordially,

Susan Kielpinski

I am trying to locate a copy of "The Down East Swaseys". If anyone knows where I could obtain a copy, please let me know. It is my understanding the Louise Swasey DeRoche passed away in 1994. I just found a letter she sent to my mother in 1982 offering her a book. I would love to have one.
