My mother was Dolly Flether, her mother was Beaulah May Hammers, daughter of James Aaron Hammers of MO. Beaulah had a brother (whom I remember as "Uncle Bill") and I do remember a Norbert and a Jewell from childhood. The last time I remember seeing them was a reunion in about 1965 (I wasn't 10) in CA. Any of this sound familiar? James Aaron Hammers is on the Cherokee Dawes Roll, and I'm working on that aspect.

I have a Maggie Hammers in my list of Hammers. I have Joel Joseph Hammers listed as her father. Would this be the same Maggie as previously listed in your messages? These Paul's are from Missouri. I would appreciate it if we have a connection, that we could share information. Thank you and good luck in your research. John Paul

This is a stretch, ok. My G grandfather was John Hammers son of Elisha Hammers. My G Grandmother was Eliza Jane Cooper. We find no Marriage records or death records. My grandmother was born in Carthage, TX. in 1882. John soon died ( we think ) because G Grandmother soon married another. Does anyone know what happened to John. I found him on 1870 census in household of Elisha, he was 13 yrs. old. His mother was Mary age 43, Elisha was 50, Mary ? 19 yrs.,Henryalso 13, James M 9, Jefferson 7 yrs. Any one know this family.

Regarding Elisha Enos Hammer. We are looking for the family of our Elisha Hammer who was born about 1819 in Missouri, according to a census record in Shelby Co., TX. Our Elisha supposedly was married to a Catherine and had a son, Calvin, in TN as the census record lists Catherine and Calvin's birthplaces as TN. Any help in trying to connect our Elisha Hammer to your family would be appreciated.
