Opb words.

It's a little hard to be sure on small example of writing.

Kerrie,

You are right. I found the same crime on another image (in different handwriting), written as "O.P.B. words."

Now if I could only figure out what it means...

Thanks,
Mitch

That's the reason I hesitated as I couldn't think what opb stood for, it was still early here in Aus, but I still can't "get" it. Will let you know if I come up with anything, these things bug me 'til I know.

Kerrie.

It's been bugging me also. Not certain this is it, but I found the term "opprobrious words" in "Park's Annotated Code of the State of Georgia" (http://books.google.com/books?id=YbIwAQAAMAAJ&dq=opprobr...). Seems reasonable that it could have been abbreviated "opb."

Well done Mitch! Definitely opb.

Means expressing scorn, disgrace, or contempt, or shameful or infamous. (not that I'll remember that)

Kerrie.

Very nice! After some googling, I found that use of "opprobrious words" was a crime in Georgia until 1972, when it was struck down by the US Supreme Court.
