In preparation for the Acadian Conference, I am attempting to obtain a complete record of the descendents of Onezime TRAHAN and Eva Duprea BIARBE/BEARD. They had 14 children altogether, all from the Lake Arthur area. The children were as follows: (1) Evelina m. Lessard DuPiue, (2) Eva Duprea m. Israel Dubois, (3) Onezie m. Lesima Guidry,
(4) Lezima m. Phillip Broussard, (5) Joseph Dupre m. Martha Mae Pruett, (6) Isaac m. Odile Mallet, (7) Clobule m. Ellen Duhon, (8) Divine Azelie m. Eugene Dupuis, (9) Alce m. Melisa Trahan, (10) Melizia m. Raymond Istre, (11) Felix m Marguerite Vincent, (12) Onezime, (13) Melisa Marie, and (14) Hamilton Joseph.

I will gladly share with you information I have. I have traced this branch of the Trahan lineage back to Nicholas Trahan of France. I already have hundreds of names of descendents of 5 of Onezime and Eva's children (Joseph Dupre - my grandfather, Felix, Melizia, Eva Duprea, and some on Alce). Please feel free to contact me if you interested in this family information and if you have information that you could share with me.

Donald, I believe I may have the descendants of Felix m. Marguerite Vincent. We called Felix, Big Felix, since my grandfather was called Tall Felix. Both of these gentlemen lived on the same street in Lake Arthur. Big Felix (b. ca. 1905, d. 1979) was married to Marguerite Vincent (b. ca. 1906, d. 1982), sister of Marie Vincent m. Lloyd Perry. I have the following children listed for Felix and Marguerite: Freeman, Jimmy, Margaret, Lovina, Virginia, and Margie. If this is the line you are looking for, please let me know. I would be happy to send you a report.

If you are looking for relatives of Felix Trahan and Marguerite Vincent of Lake Arthur, I can give you the entire genealogy back to Nicholas Trahan of France. The genealogy may be found on my home page. The address is:

Click on the file for Descendants of Nicholas Trahan. Then follow this path to Felix (or Felise): Nicholas to Guillaume to Jean Charles to Rene to Michael to Paul to Joseph Paul to Joseph Paul Jr. to Onezime to Felise/Felix.

Felix was the younger brother of my grandfather Joseph Dupre Trahan. If you want your family information placed on the home page, please send this by e-mail. If you need additional help with this, please feel free to contact me.

You also may want to visit the home page for the Trahan Family Association. This is listed as a link on my home page. This will give information about the Trahan reunion in Crowley in August, 1999. Hope to see you there.

Sincerely, Don Trahan Beaumont, TX

I would be most interested in knowing how you relate to the Royer family. I am researching the Royer family in Louisiana.

My Grandmother's name is Odille Mallet from Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada.

One book you might find useful is called "Les familles de Caraquet" though I doubt that it is still in print.

Bonne Chance!
