Many Buchan's are buried in Mt Hope but she does not appear in that index. Nor does she appear in the Zion Lutheran church records.

From family records, we know that Caroline was brought up Presbyterian, converted to Roman Catholic in 1834. Also, She was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery on Pinnacle Hill, but later we think she was moved To Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, section A, lot / tier #4, space 17. There are no definite records of this move at all.

I presume that you have checked the cemetery records at mcnygenealogy.com; the only Buchan there is BUCHAN - Stewart (and one other) [sic] ; he d March 1, 1879 age 78 or 79y; St. Mary’s Hospital; identified by nameplate; interred Oct. 9, 1935 in St. Patrick's lot in Holy Sepulchre Cem. [5] [6] [7] [8.

However, we (the RGS) did hear last week from the head of Holy Sep:
Stewart & 1 unnamed Buchan
Born: Unknown Died: Unknown Burial: 10/9/1935 Age: 0 NA
Section: Removal from Pinnacle Cemetery
Plot: A
Lot/Tier: 4
Space: 17

Best guess is that the un named person is Caroline.

Thank you!. Yes, we did check many other places and did know about the removes from Pinnacle Hill. But, still there is nothing conclusive on the missing Buchan sisters.

Sadly, that is sometimes the case. I my own research I know of some folks who did exist, and no pictures, no church records, no burial info etc.

Thank you again for your information, support, and efforts. I say that genealogy is like a jig saw puzzle with a few pieces missing sometimes, but then you might find that piece just laying on the floor or carpet. Keep looking!
