13. DAVID10 FULLER (THOMAS9, THOMAS8, RAFE7, WILLIAM6, JOHN5, JOHN4, WILLIAM3, JOHN2, WILLIAM1) was born March 26, 1704 in Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, and died June 23, 1777 in Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts. He married ELIZABETH EVERETT March 18, 1729/30 in Dedham, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts, daughter of WILLIAM EVERETT and RACHEL NEWCOMB.

Notes for DAVID FULLER:
FULLER
David4 Fuller, (David3, Thomas2, Thomas1) b. Dec. 6, 1731, m. Mar. 27, 1755, Elizabeth, dau. Thomas and Grace (Wadsworth) Dean, b. Dec. 25, 1732, d. Dec. 26, 1817. He d. Apr. 28, 1805. David Fuller was the first of the name to settle in Dover; he was descended from Thomas Fuller, who is first mentioned in the Dedham records in 1642. Thomas Fuller was a prominent man and served the town in many ways. He was a selectman for fourteen years, and represented the town in the General Court for three terms. He was interested in education, and in 1672 contributed Å“5 to Harvard College. He took charge of the town's ammunition, and served on various committees. David Fuller was born in Needham, but settled on Strawberry hill the year of his marriage, 1755. A part of his farm had been in the family for many years previous, having been bequeathed to the children of Ensign Thomas Fuller, the emigrant, by Margaret Kingsbury, an aunt of his wife, Hannah Flower, of whom little is known. This land remained in the family until purchased in 1824 by Arnold Wight. Mr. Fuller built the house a year previous to his marriage, which is still standing, with its large open fireplaces around which the family so long gathered. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the militia. He was at the Lexington Alarm and served the parish on important committees during the Revolution. His son Daniel, although a lad of only 15 years, is said to have been a drummer boy in Capt. Daniel Whiting's company in the Battle of Bunker Hill. He later served in the army, and was a revolutionary pensioner. He was present at the execution of Major Andre. Soon after his marriage in 1786, he moved to Francestown, New Hampshire. He discovered on his farm a fine soapstone quarry which is said to have produced the finest soapstone in the world. Prof. Jackson, the distinguished geologist, said: "The Francestown stone, for color, beauty and evenness, surpasses all other soapstones known." His singular good fortune and his reputation for generous and honorable dealing gave him high standing and not a little local celebrity. Children:

David, b. Dec. 5, 1755, d. Oct. 6, 1760; killed by the falling of a log of wood.
Elizabeth b. Sept. 13, 1758, m. Dec. 18, 1799, Wm. Freeland, Hopkinton.

Notes for LEMUEL FULLER:
In the "History of North Bridgewater", Page 228, we find "In Captain Leumel Dunbar's company, in service from April 18, 1761, to January 14, 1762, we find the names of Lemuel Dunbar, Captain, Peter Dunbar, Corporal, with Privates Lemuel Fuller, Adam Kingman, Lemuel Kingman, Stephen Pettingill. Also in the muster-rolls of Captain Lemual Dunbar's company, enlisted for an expedition to Crown Point, in service from March 4, 1762, to December 5, 1762, -- Lemuel Dunbar, Captain. Privates: Hugh Carr, Thomas Carr, Lemuel Fuller, Ephraim Groves, Abijah Hill, John Pratt, Philip Reynolds. We have thus far endeavored to present the names of all those who did service during the French Wars. Doubtless, many have served in these expeditions that are no on the rolls, or have entered other companies, not belonging in the Bridgewater rolls. We can see, however, by the foregoing lists, that the North Parish of Bridgewater did her part in the service in which Massachusetts took the lead."

Regimental History
FOURTH REGIMENT
MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER MILITIA(INFANTRY)
NINE MONTHS

Under the call of August 4, 1862, for 300,000 militia to serve nine months, 19,080 being the number assigned to the quota of Massachusetts, the 4th Regt. again volunteered and was ordered to Camp Joe Hooker at Lakeville, Mass., to recruit to war strength. Its companies were mustered into the United States service on various dates between Sept. 1, and Sept. 26, while the field and staff were mostly mustered December 16. On the 27th of December the regiment proceeded to New York where it embarked for Louisiana. It left New York Harbor January 3, 1863, and arrived at Carrolton, La., February 13. On March 7 it arrived at Baton Rouge, La., forming a part of Ingraham's Brigade, Emory's Division, 19th Corps. Here it cooperated with the Navy in the attempt of Admiral Farragut to run past the Port Hudson batteries. It engaged in the attack on Fort Bisland, April 11 to 13, and joined in the pursuit of the Confederates as far as Franklin. From the last of April until the 30th of May it was in or near Brashear City. During the first two weeks in June it participated in the siege of
Port Hudson and on June 14 took part in the assault. After the surrender of the city July 8, the 4th Regt. did garrison duty in the defenses until the termination of its period of enlistment. The regiment started for home via Cairo, Ill., on the 4th of August and arrived in Boston on the 17th. It was mustered out at Camp Joe Hooker, August 28.

N.B.-The muster out rolls of the 4th Regiment show that it was present at Brashear City, La., on the occasion of the capture of that place by the Confederates, June 23, 1863, and that it lost a large number of prisoners.

Nathaniel Fuller b late 1800's, early 1900's a very dear friend of my parents lived in Canton, Ma. He was a dentist, hunter, fisherman. He and my father used to go hunting and fishing together and belonged to the Canton Fish and Game also the one in Sharon too. I do know he had a son older then I was, but I don't know his name. I do have some hunting pictures of Nate and my Dad along with some of their friends. I am 80 years old and remember him so well.
